Accenture and Shiseido have announced the establishment of a joint venture called ‘Shiseido Interactive Beauty’ to drive Shiseido’s digital transformation. Set to launch in July, the majority-owned venture will combine the digital, IT, and other skilled resources of both companies. Accenture will also provide training to enhance the digital skills of the venture’s employees.

A key objective of the joint venture is to migrate Shiseido’s IT infrastructure to the cloud, a move that will enhance efficiency and reduce costs associated with maintenance. By leveraging data and advanced technology, the joint venture intends to create new beauty experiences for customers through enhanced digital marketing. This will involve utilizing information such as customers’ browsing and purchase histories.

Shiseido’s representative director, president, and CEO, Masahiko Uotani, emphasized the significance of digital transformation in responding to evolving customer demands and markets. Uotani stated that digital transformation is essential as Shiseido aims to create a better world through the power of beauty.

The partnership between Shiseido and Accenture was initiated in February and is built on shared values. Julie Sweet, CEO of Accenture, expressed her excitement about helping Shiseido innovate and meet consumer needs. Sweet also highlighted the companies’ commitment to investing in digital skills, promoting inclusion and diversity, and prioritizing sustainability in Shiseido’s products and operations.

Ultimately, the joint venture between Accenture and Shiseido marks a significant milestone in Shiseido’s digital transformation journey and the creation of new beauty experiences for customers. By leveraging the expertise and resources of both companies, they aim to revolutionize the beauty industry and deliver value to all stakeholders.
