Brownie, the Barcelona-based women’s fashion brand, has achieved remarkable success and growth in 2022. With 100 points of sale and €70 million in revenues, the company has firmly established itself in Spain and Portugal and is now set on expanding its international reach.

Last year, Brownie made its entry into the French market by opening nine corners in Printemps department stores in prominent cities like Paris, Marseille, and Lille. Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, the brand’s foray into France has proven fruitful. The CEO has expressed the brand’s commitment to maintaining a selective retail presence in the country.

Buoyed by the success of its retail locations, Brownie opened its first stand-alone store in France in February of this year, followed by a second location in November. Further expansions are in the pipeline, with plans to open more stores in Bercy Village and the Westfield Vélizy 2 shopping center in the coming months. Brownie seeks to make France its leading market in terms of turnover.

Looking beyond France, Brownie has ambitious plans to enter markets such as Israel, the Netherlands, and Germany by 2024. Already, the brand has a physical retail presence in various countries including Andorra, Belgium, Chile, and Mexico. In fact, Mexico has been a strategic market for Brownie, with plans to open more locations in department stores next year. Additionally, the brand has its sights set on entering the Colombian, Peruvian, and Panamanian markets in the future.

In the digital realm, Brownie’s e-commerce channel has experienced significant growth, particularly in the wake of the pandemic. The CEO anticipates that online sales will account for 20% of total sales within the next two years. Nonetheless, the brand remains committed to its physical retail expansion, placing great importance on organic growth and reinvesting profits back into the business.

The strategic direction and investments made by Brownie have proven successful, with a projected 40% increase in sales for the current fiscal year. The CEO is optimistic about the future, acknowledging that the company is still in the early stages of expansion and has a long journey ahead. As Brownie continues to grow and internationalize, they are already exploring potential collaborations with international partners.
