Chanel, the renowned French luxury brand, is set to significantly expand its global headquarters located in London’s prestigious Mayfair district. This decision comes on the heels of the company’s impressive double-digit sales growth last year. Chanel has secured a new 20-year lease on a property at 38 Berkeley Square, solidifying its commitment to the UK market.

The luxury sector has been actively seeking prime real estate in Mayfair, especially during the pandemic. The area’s highly coveted streets have become a hotspot for luxury retail and office spaces. By doubling its headquarters’ size in this upscale neighborhood, Chanel further reinforces the allure of Mayfair for luxury companies.

Chanel will be moving from its current location in the Time and Life building, where it has been situated since 2018, to the newly constructed 38 Berkeley Square. This development marks the first new building to be erected on the square in the last two decades. Although the building is set to open next summer, Chanel’s teams are expected to transition to the new headquarters by 2025.

Leena Nair, Chanel’s CEO, expressed the brand’s deep connection with London and stated, “London has been an important center for Chanel for many years, and today’s announcement reaffirms our commitment to the UK and to our people.” Nair also emphasized that the new global headquarters will prioritize sustainability and provide a beautiful and inclusive working environment to support Chanel’s future growth.

Chanel’s decision to expand its London headquarters is a testament to the brand’s confidence in the UK market and recognition of the city’s role as a hub for the luxury industry. With its larger space in Mayfair, Chanel is well-positioned for continued success and growth in the coming years.
