Frasers Group, a well-known fashion and sportswear company, has submitted a planning application to establish its global headquarters campus in Ansty, Rugby, Warwickshire. This new campus has the potential to generate 7,500 job opportunities and contribute £300 million to the region’s economy. Additionally, the relocation would bring Frasers Group’s headquarters within a 50-mile radius of its current base in Shirebrook, Derbyshire.

Should the planning application be approved, the renowned Grimshaw Architects will be responsible for designing the campus. Grimshaw Architects are known for their exceptional work on notable projects such as the Eden Project and London’s Excel Phase II. The proposed campus will encompass various facilities including logistics space, offices, research and development centers, retail outlets, a hotel, and leisure amenities. Furthermore, plans are underway to include a public gym and bookable courts and pitches.

A spokesperson from Frasers Group emphasized that the proposed headquarters would serve as a world-class platform, supporting the company’s elevation strategy, sector-leading ecosystem, and growth ambitions.

Earlier this year, Frasers Group announced its intention to reduce costs and streamline operations by eliminating up to 200 head office positions, which accounted for roughly 20% of its workforce in London and Shirebrook. This decision came after a period of significant change for the company, including strategic acquisitions and progress towards its elevation strategy.

As part of its long-term elevation strategy, Frasers Group aims to enhance its reputation and attract more prestigious brands to its stores. Flannels, one of its upscale operations, has been expanding into prominent city center locations over the past year and a half and now boasts 50 stores across the UK.

Ultimately, Frasers Group’s proposal for a new global headquarters campus demonstrates its commitment to growth and innovation within the fashion and sportswear industry. If approved, the campus would not only create job opportunities but also contribute substantial economic value to the region.
