Gap Inc has recently announced a new licensing deal with Unlimited Footwear Group (UFG), which will enable UFG to manufacture and distribute Gap’s footwear collections in various European markets. This agreement covers the entire European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, and Scandinavia.

The partnership, facilitated by IMG, has the goal of expanding Gap’s presence and establishing the brand as a lifestyle choice for customers worldwide. Adrienne Gernand, the managing director of international, global licensing, and wholesale at Gap Inc, expressed her excitement about partnering with licensees like Unlimited Footwear Group, as it provides an opportunity to enhance the globally relevant brand and broaden its reach among consumers globally. Through these licensing partnerships, Gap Inc can expand its non-apparel categories and position Gap as a lifestyle brand that caters to customers at all life stages.

Unlimited Footwear Group’s The Heritage Footwear Company division will oversee the management of Gap’s footwear collections. The plan is to introduce two collections per year, priced at a mid-level range. These footwear collections will be distributed through Gap’s international sales network, which includes multi-brand fashion and sports retail, wholesale, as well as various online platforms.

Bart van Helvoirt, the CEO of Unlimited Footwear Group, expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership and emphasized their dedication to leveraging their 30+ years of experience in the footwear industry to enhance Gap’s brand awareness and international presence. The first Gap footwear collection by Unlimited Footwear Group, designed for men, women, and children, is scheduled to launch in Spring/Summer 2023.
