Particularly affected by the brutal Russian invasion, which is costing the lives of thousands of innocent people, the 26-year-old supermodel Gigi Hadid wanted to make a concrete gesture of solidarity, donating the compensation of the fashion month shows to humanitarian organizations.

Although in the last month she has done nothing but go on and off the catwalks of the various Fashion Weeks, Gigi Hadid has not forgotten that Ukrainians are suffering and dying under Russian bombs. This is why the 26-year-old supermodel has decided to donate all of her compensation from her autumn fashion shows to NGOs that are helping people affected by war.

Having a set Fashion Month schedule has meant that my colleagues and I often present new fashion collections during heartbreaking and traumatic times in history. We don’t have control over most of our work schedules, but we would like to walk ‘for’ something. Following in the footsteps of my friend @micarganaraz, I am pledging to donate my earnings from the Fall 2022 shows to aid those suffering from the war in Ukraine, as well as continuing to support those experiencing the same in Palestine. Our eyes and hearts must be open to all human injustice. May we all see each other as brothers and sisters, beyond politics, beyond race, beyond religion. At the the end of the day, innocent lives pay for war- not leaders.
HANDS OFF UKRAINE. HANDS OFF PALESTINE. PEACE. PEACE. PEACE. 🕊

Last month, the model expressed her thoughts on the war in Ukraine in which she pointed the finger at Russian President Vladimir Putin, defining his actions as “a threat to every democratic country that must be stopped“. An appeal, however, that fell on deaf ears.
