Italian luxury sneaker brand Golden Goose is making its way into the padel world, a sport similar to tennis, by sponsoring the Golden Goose-branded Atlante Arena padel pavilion. Set to open in Milan’s CityLife in the last quarter of 2024, the pavilion aims to celebrate the history and community of padel. To expand globally, Golden Goose has partnered with Italian sport personalities Demetrio Albertini and Lorenzo Alfieri, founders of the City Padel Milano club, to create this innovative padel pavilion. The Atlante Arena will not only feature top-notch padel courts but also a retail space showcasing Golden Goose sneakers, apparel, and specialized padel equipment, all customizable through Golden Goose’s co-design service. The brand’s headquarters in Marghera, near Venice, will play a significant role in the development and production of these products.

In addition to its venture into padel, Golden Goose is making progress towards its Milan Stock Exchange initial public offering (IPO) in 2024. The brand has chosen Bank of America, JPMorgan, Mediobanca, and UBS as the joint global coordinators for the IPO. Golden Goose, acquired by private equity firm Permira in 2020, has been experiencing positive growth in recent years. In Q3 2023, the brand’s revenue increased by 16% compared to the same period the previous year, reaching €145 million. In fiscal year 2022, Golden Goose achieved a 39.5% rise in revenue, amounting to €387.27 million. The brand’s gross operating profit saw a significant increase of 60% to €160.4 million, while net profit decreased slightly to €76.9 million. The company also expanded its workforce from 303 to 377 employees in 2022.

The Atlante Arena padel pavilion will not only serve as a sporting facility but also provide an immersive experience for players. The digital experience of the pavilion will be curated by the padel app WeSmash, enhancing pre- and post-match activities. The pavilion will feature six indoor courts, one indoor Pro court, and two vintage-style outdoor courts equipped with state-of-the-art technology. Visitors can enjoy a complete view of the courts from the second-floor lounge area. Designed by Novembre Studio, the structure aims to go beyond being a mere sports facility, emphasizing health, personal care, beauty, sustainability, and nutrition to improve sporting performance. The outdoor area of the Arena will also host special events, providing a space for post-match celebrations.

Golden Goose’s entry into padel and its IPO preparations reflect the brand’s commitment to growth and innovation. With its unique combination of luxury and sportswear, Golden Goose continues to captivate consumers and expand its presence in the global market. The brand’s collaboration with sports personalities and its dedication to providing exceptional experiences will further solidify its position as a leading player in the sneaker industry. As Golden Goose evolves, it is sure to create new and exciting opportunities for athletes and fashion enthusiasts alike.
