Havaianas, the renowned Brazilian footwear group and owner of the popular brand Havaianas, is celebrating a strong start to fiscal year 2022. The company has announced impressive revenue figures for the first quarter, reaching 927.2 million reais (178 million euros), a 9% increase compared to the same period in 2021. Havaianas alone contributed significantly to this success, generating revenues of 908.2 million reais (174 million euros).

A key driver behind Havaianas’ success is its expansion of its retail network. In the first half of 2022, the brand opened a total of 353 mono-brand shops, surpassing the previous year’s figure of 239. This strategic move to establish a presence in cities and urban hubs has proven highly effective, attracting a growing community of loyal followers known as “Havalovers.” Furthermore, Havaianas’ recent collaboration with the iconic Italian brand Vibram has further bolstered its success, as all products sold out within just 24 hours of online sales, highlighting the strong demand for Havaianas’ products.

In terms of sales volume, Havaianas sold an impressive 56 million pairs of footwear in the first quarter of 2022, with 8.9 million pairs sold globally. This represents an 11% increase compared to the same period last year. Notably, China experienced a significant surge in sales volume, recording a remarkable 40% year-on-year increase. Europe also saw strong growth in sales volumes, with a notable 20% increase.

Havaianas’ exceptional performance in the first quarter of fiscal year 2022 underscores its enduring popularity and ability to adapt to evolving market trends. With its expanding store network and a dedicated customer base, Havaianas is poised for continued success in the global footwear market.
