Euphoria Season 2 has a release date, made official in the new teaser trailer of the highly anticipated second season of the TV series. The new episodes will be broadcast in the USA from 9 January 2022 on HBO.
On November 23, HBO launched the first official teaser for the second season of the series, which opens with Zendaya-Rue lying in bed singing Frank Sinatra’s “Call Me Irresponsible.” She then she gets up and starts dancing around her house until her sister Gia (Storm Reid) asks her, “Are you high”? We also see smoky parties, Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) bringing Maddy (Alexa Demie) a birthday cake, and then the two posing for a photo with Kat (Barbie Ferreira); what looks like a police raid; and someone grabs Rue from behind her and drags her away. “When you’re young, everything seems eternal” we hear Rue’s thoughtful voice off-camera. “But as you grow up, you begin to understand that nothing lasts forever, and that the people you love can walk away from you.”

On December 21st, HBO then launched the first real trailer of the series showing us the youngsters who intertwine in the city of East Highland, California, and in particular of the seventeen-year-old Rue (Zendaya) who struggles to find the strength to resist the pressures derived from love, loss and addiction.
The show tells the lives of a group of penniless high school students struggling with first loves, the first burning disappointments, the typical torments of adolescence, the desire to transgress and a lot of bad choices. Like those made by Rue, who for almost the entire trailer of Euphoria 2 she walks with a trolley with an initially mysterious content but which, with the continuation of the clip, turns out to be full of drugs. Apparently, therefore, the character played by Zendaya is selling drugs or, at the very least, is thinking of entering the drug dealing business, getting into even greater trouble than she faced in the first season of Euphoria. Euphoria’s second season is expected to pick up on the effects of the separation between Rue and Jules at the end of the first season, with Rue falling back into addiction.
Alongside Zendaya, last season’s characters including Bennett’s best friend Lexi Howard (Maude Apatow), confident self-charged Maddy Perez (Alexa Demie) and Jules Vaughn (Hunter Schafer), will star. New cast members include Friday Night Lights star Minka Kelly, who will portray a drug-addicted housewife, along with Indie singer Dominic Fike and rapper Lil Meech.
