London-based fashion jeweller tlke has recently secured £300k in funding to support its expansion plans. The funding, with 80% guaranteed by the UK government body UK Export Finance (UKEF), comes after a successful trading year for the company.

Specializing in distributing high-quality, branded jewellery from international brands to the UK and European market, tlke works alongside renowned designers like Ralph Lauren and DKNY. The company supplies its products to retailers such as House of Fraser, Fenwick, and Ernest Jones. Despite the challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, tlke has managed to maintain major contracts and even expand its partnership with Ernest Jones, adding 30 additional stores to its distribution network, thanks to the support of UKEF.

Teresa Timberlake, founding partner at tlke, expressed her gratitude for the support from UKEF during a challenging period for businesses. She also highlighted the company’s optimism for the future, emphasizing the potential for exciting partnerships with renowned brands.

Richard Gimblett, Area Director for Business Banking in London City at HSBC UK, praised tlke for its resilience and affirmed the bank’s commitment to supporting the company’s growth plans. The funding provided by HSBC UK, guaranteed by UKEF, will be instrumental in enabling tlke to pursue further partnership opportunities and expand its workforce.

Mike Freer MP, Minister for exports, acknowledged the difficulties faced by businesses during the Covid-19 pandemic and commended tlke for its ability to continue exporting British products worldwide, especially during the festive period. The government’s support has played a crucial role in helping tlke navigate the challenges and emerge stronger.

With the additional funding secured, tlke is well-positioned to pursue its growth objectives in 2022 and beyond. The company’s success in the highly competitive fashion jewellery industry is a testament to its commitment to quality and its strategic partnerships with international brands. As tlke continues to expand its presence in the UK and European market, it is poised to make a lasting impact on the fashion jewellery industry.
