The London Designer Outlet (LDO) located in Wembley Park has made a remarkable recovery in recent times, with its sales rapidly approaching pre-pandemic levels. This 265,000 sq ft center has witnessed a surge in the addition of new brands over the past two years, elevating its premium fashion offerings and solidifying its position as a leading retail destination. Amidst the challenges posed by the pandemic, LDO has successfully welcomed 10 new renowned brands, including the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein, Lyle and Scott, and adidas, covering a significant area of 61,000 sq ft. This expansion is a testament to the center’s appeal among retailers.

The London Designer Outlet’s performance during the ‘Golden Quarter’ trading period has been particularly promising, with like-for-like sales climbing to 90% of the levels achieved in 2019. In a remarkable turnaround from 2020, sales have witnessed a substantial 36.3% increase. This growth can be attributed to a surge in customer expenditure and a notable rise of 6% and 18% in average transaction values and guest spend, respectively, since the beginning of October.

The center has further bolstered its capabilities by appointing a new general manager, Daniel Tomkinson. Tomkinson brings a wealth of experience to his new role, having previously served as the chief executive of the Covent Garden Market Authority (CGMA), where he successfully spearheaded a £300 million redevelopment project. With nearly a decade of valuable insights gained at Savills, including his role as the center director for the Eden Shopping Centre in High Wycombe, Tomkinson is well-equipped to contribute to Wembley Park’s growth as a prominent shopping, dining, and living destination within the capital.

Tomkinson recognizes and acknowledges the impressive performance of the London Designer Outlet, acknowledging its status as the leading fashion and lifestyle outlet center in the UK. He expresses his enthusiasm for being a part of Wembley Park’s continued success and aims to further enhance the center’s reputation. With the continuous addition of new brands and their ability to thrive within the center’s vibrant ecosystem, LDO is poised for even greater achievements in the future.
