The 21st edition of the MarediModa trade show, held from November 7-9 at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France, concluded with steady results. The event saw a similar number of exhibitors compared to the previous edition and attracted a consistent number of visitors. Notably, there was an increase in buyers from the USA, Latin America, and northern Europe compared to previous editions, indicating the global appeal of the show.

With over 110 European exhibitors participating, MarediModa showcased the latest summer 2025 collections of fabrics and accessories for premium beachwear, lingerie, and athleisure. The trade show has gained a reputation for its stringent selection policy, making it the go-to event for high-end swimwear, underwear, and athleisure sectors. Claudio Taiana, the president of MarediModa, expressed his satisfaction with the success of the event, emphasizing how the show’s focus on creativity and supply chain traceability represents the future of textile shows.

Once again, The Lycra Company, a leading innovator in sustainable fiber and technology solutions for the textile and apparel industry, served as the official partner of MarediModa. During the show, the Delaware-based company unveiled two new fibers, Adaptiv Black and Adaptiv Xtra-life. These fibers combine the original Lycra fiber’s benefits with two proprietary technologies, providing an enhanced user experience. Alistair Williamson, the vice-president EMEA & South Asia Apparel at The Lycra Company, shared insights on the new fibers and the company’s commitment to sustainability at a speech and press conference, highlighting the company’s dedication to innovation and environmental responsibility.

A highlight of MarediModa was the successful evening event in collaboration with Italian fabric producers Carvico and Jersey Lomellina, along with The Lycra Company. This special event showcased the new brand identities, revamped corporate image, and repositioning strategies of Carvico and Jersey Lomellina. The collections presented by both companies incorporated The Lycra Company’s latest technology, highlighting the close relationship between these industry leaders and their shared commitment to quality and innovation.

The trade show’s trend area featured the key summer 2025 trends, with an engaging presentation by David Shah. MarediModa also recognized young creatives at the award ceremony and runway show for The Link competition, which aims to inspire and highlight emerging talent. Monika Luczak, from the Strzeminski Academy of Fine Art in Lodz, Poland, won the Underwear category, Iulia Anton from the University of Art and Design in Cluj Napoca, Romania, won the Athleisure category, and Laurine Achoui from LISAA Paris Mode, France, won the Beachwear category. In addition to these highlights, MarediModa showcased exhibitions, installations, and digital tools to inspire designers, including the Athleisyou and Flash! projects developed in collaboration with ISGMD.
