Italian luxury outerwear brand Moncler has surpassed expectations with its impressive sales figures for 2021, exceeding 2 billion euros. This success can be attributed to strong performances in both the US and Chinese markets, surpassing pre-pandemic levels. Moncler’s achievement reflects a broader trend seen in the luxury industry, where many brands have quickly bounced back from the impact of the global pandemic due to a surge in demand for high-end apparel.

Including the recently acquired Stone Island brand, Moncler’s consolidated revenues for the year reached 2.05 billion euros, surpassing the company’s own forecast of 1.99 billion euros. This exceptional performance has positioned Moncler as one of the top performers in the luxury sector during the holiday season.

Despite ongoing geopolitical uncertainties, CEO Remo Ruffini expressed confidence in Moncler’s future prospects. He emphasized the upcoming anniversaries of Moncler (70 years) and Stone Island (40 years) as opportunities for further growth.

In the fourth quarter of 2021, Moncler’s main label sales reached 803 million euros, representing a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2020, and a remarkable 30% increase compared to 2019. Stone Island, which has been included in Moncler’s accounts since April, contributed 66 million euros to the company’s sales during this period.

Moncler also reported positive financial figures for 2021, with earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) reaching 603 million euros, surpassing analysts’ expectations of 573 million euros. The net profit for the year reached 411 million euros, exceeding analysts’ forecast of 386 million euros.

Given its strong performance, Moncler has proposed a dividend of 0.6 euros per share, further demonstrating the company’s confidence in its future prospects.
