Neom, a renowned UK-based international retailer specializing in wellbeing and skincare products, has announced impressive year-end sales and growth thanks to its digital-first omnichannel approach. The company, which is widely recognized for its innovative products aimed at enhancing sleep quality, reducing stress, uplifting moods, and boosting energy levels, also offers an extensive selection of skincare and body care items. In fiscal 2020, Neom experienced a significant surge in sales, with a remarkable 84% increase amounting to £28.9 million. This impressive growth can be attributed to successful product innovation and a nearly threefold rise in digital sales, as an increasing number of consumers prioritize their wellbeing.

Digital sales, which encompass sales from Neom’s own e-commerce platform as well as estimated digital sales from wholesale and e-partners, accounted for a staggering 80% of total sales. Additionally, Neom witnessed a noteworthy 120% expansion in its active customer base, with a 204% surge in the number of customers placing orders. This remarkable growth facilitated an astonishing 180% increase in Neom’s own e-commerce sales and a 150% rise in website traffic. Moreover, the company’s EBITDA (earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization) experienced a substantial increase, reaching £4.9 million, showcasing the company’s operational leverage and highly profitable business model.

Neom’s international presence has also expanded significantly, as it has forged partnerships with Nordstrom in the US, launched the Neom US website, and collaborated with Douglas in Europe. In addition to its digital expansion, Neom has introduced physical retail stores known as “wellbeing hubs.” One of these hubs was inaugurated near London’s Liverpool St Station in October, bringing the total number of hubs to five.

The company’s growth trajectory has continued into the first half of 2021, with sales surpassing the previous year by over 60%. Neom’s CEO, Oliver Mennell, expressed his delight with the company’s performance, stating, “We have achieved substantial increases in revenue and profitability, driven by further growth in direct-to-consumer and digital sales, as well as successful product innovation.” Mennell also emphasized the potential for growth through new product development, the ongoing transition to digital and direct-to-consumer channels, and expansion into international markets, particularly the US and China.

Overall, Neom’s robust performance reflects the escalating demand for wellbeing and skincare merchandise and the company’s ability to adapt and flourish in an era centered around digital advancements. With its pioneering product offerings and effective omnichannel strategy, Neom is well-poised for sustained growth and triumph in the global wellbeing market.
