Italian eyewear manufacturer Safilo and French luxury fashion brand Pierre Cardin have announced the extension of their partnership. The renewed license agreement will continue until December 31, 2026, and covers the development, production, and distribution of Pierre Cardin’s sunglasses and prescription glasses frames. This decision solidifies a longstanding relationship between the two companies, with Safilo producing Pierre Cardin glasses since 1991.

The latest collection of Pierre Cardin glasses was unveiled at a runway show in September at the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris. The event not only showcased the new eyewear line but also marked the premiere of a documentary titled ‘House of Cardin,’ which delves into the brand’s rich history.

Safilo Group, known for its collaborations with various fashion brands, such as Boss, David Beckham, Moschino, Missoni, Tommy Hilfiger, and Isabel Marant, among others, is controlled by Dutch fund Hal. In 2019, the company generated a turnover of €939 million ($1.1 billion), representing a 3.1% increase compared to the previous year.

The partnership renewal between Safilo and Pierre Cardin strengthens their collaboration and emphasizes the value and longevity of their relationship. Both companies will continue working together to create and distribute high-quality eyewear that embodies Pierre Cardin’s unique and timeless style. As the fashion industry continues to evolve, Safilo remains dedicated to partnering with prestigious brands and offering innovative eyewear solutions to consumers worldwide.
