German sneaker and streetwear retailer, Snipes, has recently announced its acquisition of American sneaker chain, Jimmy Jazz. This acquisition is Snipes’ largest one to date and will serve as a catalyst for the brand’s expansion in the United States. The addition of Jimmy Jazz will triple Snipes’ number of stores in the country, increasing its count from just over 100 to nearly 270.

This strategic move allows Snipes to enter new areas within the U.S., specifically targeting the East Coast, Southeast, and Midwest regions. Currently, Snipes operates over 450 stores across Europe and the U.S., and with the inclusion of Jimmy Jazz, its total store count will exceed 600. Snipes initially entered the U.S. market in May 2019 through the acquisition of KicksUSA.

Despite the challenges brought by the ongoing pandemic, Snipes has been experiencing consistent growth. The brand remains focused on its “community first” concept, prioritizing its core customer base. Sven Voth, the CEO and founder of Snipes, expressed enthusiasm about strengthening the brand’s dedication to the communities it serves through this partnership with Jimmy Jazz.

One key aspect that sets Snipes apart is its strong connection to hip hop culture and its community-centric approach, which supports and celebrates street culture. Since its establishment in 1998, Snipes has been known for carrying notable brands such as Nike, Adidas, Carhartt, Jordan, New Balance, and Vans.

Headquartered in Secaucus, New Jersey, Jimmy Jazz has been offering premium lifestyle brands for over three decades. The retailer has played a significant role in the growth of “sneaker culture” in important markets and has a presence in malls and strip centers. Jimmy Jazz offers brands such as Nike, Jordan, Adidas, Puma, and Polo.

Jimmy Khezrie, the owner of Jimmy Jazz, expressed excitement about the partnership with Snipes. He believes that this acquisition signifies gaining a strong global partner who shares their passion and will continue to support their legacy, as well as their investments in teams and stores.

This acquisition marks a major milestone for Snipes as it expands its reach and establishes a stronger foothold in the U.S. market. With the addition of Jimmy Jazz, Snipes is poised to continue its upward trajectory and solidify its position in the sneaker and streetwear retail industry.
