Biography
Richard Quinn is a British fashion designer who first gained fame when he won the H&M Design Award in 2017. Quinn’s forward-thinking approach, combined with his use of bold prints and vivid colors, has made him one of the most exciting new voices in the industry.

Quinn grew up in South London, where he was drawn to the vibrant street style and DIY fashion of the punk and New Romantic eras. His mother ran a printing business, which introduced him to the world of fabric and textile design, and he soon discovered a passion for creating his own prints.

Quinn studied fashion design at Central Saint Martins in London, where he quickly established himself as a standout talent. He drew inspiration from a diverse range of sources, including fairy tales, medieval art, and vintage fashion, and his collections often featured sculptural silhouettes and intricate embroidery.

After graduating from CSM, Quinn set up his own eponymous label in 2016. He quickly attracted attention from industry insiders and was invited to show his collection at London Fashion Week in 2017. His debut show was a riot of color and texture, featuring oversized floral prints, sweeping capes, and voluminous tulle skirts.

In addition to his own label, Quinn has collaborated with a number of other brands, including Liberty London and Matches Fashion. He has also designed costumes for the Royal Ballet and worked on a project with the royal family, creating a dress for HRH Queen Elizabeth II to wear during London Fashion Week.

Quinn’s designs have been worn by a number of high-profile celebrities, including Amal Clooney and Beyoncé, and he has been named one of Forbes’ 30 Under 30 in Europe for his contributions to the fashion industry.

Despite his success, Quinn remains committed to supporting emerging talent and has set up a print studio in his hometown of Peckham, where he offers young designers the chance to create their own prints and fabrics.
