LOEWE, a fashion house from Spain, recently unveiled its Pixel Capsule Collection for Spring Summer 2023, which was originally showcased during the women’s wear show for the same season.

The collection’s lookbook, photographed by Jules Moskovtchenko, features a “digital world decontextualized” theme, where classic LOEWE designs are reimagined in pixelated form. One example is the Puzzle Edge bag, made of soft calfskin leather and adorned with pixelated squares that accentuate the accessory’s geometric lines, giving an idea of what the rest of the collection may look like.

The LOEWE Anagram Logo T-shirt, technical knit hoodie, technical knit top, Duchesse silk satin trousers, and other items seen on the runway all create a powerful impression in the real world. Each piece features a print that blurs the lines between reality and the virtual world, or is cut in a manner reminiscent of a retro character’s uniform.

Similarly, denim jeans, a trucker jacket, and a denim skirt are updated with pixelated patterns on the traditional blue base. To maintain the collection’s theme, all pieces are packaged in unique pixelated bags and boxes.

With prices ranging from $590 to $3,400, even though they are not hi-res textures, each item in the collection is available for purchase. Despite appearing to be solely a novelty, Loewe appears to believe that people will be interested in buying them. It is amusing to witness a luxury fashion brand treating such a playful concept with such gravity.
