Urban Outfitters Inc. has recently announced a notable 10% increase in net sales for the two months ending December 31. This impressive growth can be credited to the double-digit sales surge of its Anthropologie and Free People brands. The company also reported an 8% increase in total retail segment sales, with comparable retail segment sales managing to increase by 6%. These positive results were spurred by a high single-digit increase in digital channel sales, as well as a low single-digit increase in retail store sales.

While Free People experienced an impressive 20% increase in comparable retail segment sales, and Anthropologie saw a commendable 14% increase, Urban Outfitters unfortunately witnessed a 13% decrease. On the wholesale side, Free People managed to achieve a 15% increase in sales, driven by strong sales to department stores and specialty accounts. However, Urban Outfitters experienced a decrease in wholesale sales.

Beyond their thriving sales performance, Urban Outfitters also reported a remarkable 71% increase in net sales for their Nuuly segment. This growth was primarily fueled by a significant 58% increase in subscribers.

Looking at the bigger picture, Urban Outfitters reported an overall 8% increase in sales for the eleven-month period leading up to December 31.

Furthermore, the company has made an exciting announcement regarding the appointment of Shea Jensen as the new president of the Urban Outfitters brand in North America.
