Valentino is set to embark on an exciting new chapter for its eyewear collection through a highly-anticipated collaboration with Akoni Group. The exclusive partnership, signed last year, will see Akoni Group take on the responsibility of designing, manufacturing, and distributing the new eyewear products under the Valentino brand.

The first collection is scheduled to launch in July and will consist of three distinct styles that embody the essence of Valentino Couture. These styles will showcase the brand’s dedication to using the finest materials and a combination of traditional and innovative production techniques. To further strengthen the connection between the eyewear and the wider Valentino label, each model is named after the numbers of the historical Valentino headquarters, drawing inspiration from key locations associated with the brand.

Crafted with utmost precision and attention to detail, the new Valentino eyewear collection is meticulously produced in the finest workshop in Japan. Only the highest quality materials and techniques are utilized to create each piece. The collection celebrates the “mastery of couture. The culture of couture and the rituals,” blending traditional craftsmanship with room for experimentation and innovation.

The initial launch will feature a luxury high-end capsule collection consisting of three sunglass styles available in 10 different colorways. These styles incorporate the signature codes of the Valentino brand, including the iconic rockstuds and V-logo. The chosen color palette subtly conveys the brand’s Haute Couture heritage, maintaining a delicate balance between classic and contemporary.

The first style, Valentino VIII, is a feminine cat-eye shape that combines titanium and acetate materials. It effortlessly blends retro-cool vibes from the 50s with a modern twist for a timeless and stylish look. The design showcases technically sophisticated elements such as Valentino 3D rockstuds, progressive twisted temples, and custom hinges. Color options for Valentino VIII include black, clear brown, and crystal bordeaux.

Valentino XVI, on the other hand, embraces an oversized aviator shape inspired by the 80s. It exudes a fashion-forward presence with its 3D Valentino rockstuds embellishing various parts of the frame. Made entirely of Japanese titanium, this style offers multicolored gradient sun lenses, enhancing visual impact and complementing the sophisticated Valentino heritage color combinations.

Lastly, number XXII pays homage to Valentino’s Creative Director with a modern interpretation of the retro 60s Wellington shape. This style, available in solid black, brown tortoise, and mid-honey tortoise, features an 8mm thick front that maximizes volume and wearability. The recognizable 3D Valentino rockstuds adorn various parts of the frame, adding a touch of elegance.

Valentino fans can look forward to more exciting styles being introduced in October, as the second drop of the collaboration will offer six additional eyewear designs. Whether it’s the timeless elegance of the cat-eye shape or the bold presence of the oversized aviators, the new Valentino eyewear collection is set to captivate fashion enthusiasts and eyewear connoisseurs alike.

As Valentino enters this new chapter for its eyewear line, the collaboration with Akoni Group marks a significant moment for the brand. Combining Akoni’s expertise in eyewear design and manufacturing with Valentino’s timeless aesthetic, this partnership promises to deliver exceptional eyewear that reflects the spirit of Valentino Couture. The July launch is just the beginning of what is sure to be a successful and innovative venture for both Valentino and Akoni Group in the world of luxury eyewear.
